* Great contrast (live-action film looks awesome) * No heat impact (gets warm, but not hot - my old bulb projector would actually change the room temperature) * LED bulb lasts forever (no more $99 - $399 replacement bulbs, yay!) * More or less requires a light-controlled room does the best in a pitch-black room (extremely dim otherwise, at least on my 500-lumen model) * Shoots a nice-sized screen (max 80" on my Viewsonic, although I've used it up to 190") * Small (smaller than a piece of paper, less than 2" high) I'll just do a quickie review of my version: My 500-lumen model is pretty dim at anything higher than the 80" size and also in anything other than a very dark room. I believe this LG projector uses the same chip (.45x DMD LED DLP) but has more lumens, so it should produce a brighter image. I picked up a Viewsonic PLED-W500 recently, which is a 500-lumen version of this projector (it actually plays movies closer to 300 lumens according to reviewers). so I imagine the PA70 with an 80-100 inch screen with a gray screen would just rock, thought you might wanna know painted a medium gray screen on the wall fro an Optoma HD20 I had, painted the wall medium gray to improve the black levels of the optoma.well, the PB61U looked STUNNING on that gray wall, blacks were inky and rivaled my panasonic ae4000u, not as bright but pretty damn watchable 94" diagonal screen. so Im getting a full refund, shipped it out today.įYI.prior to packing it I had removed the screen material from my wall and I had at some point. so decided to send back after the only offered me $25.00 refund for sending an open box unit. I did and it looked untouched but the fact that it had been opened and I was sold a NEW projector bothered me. she told me to go ahead and open it and see what was the condition of the projector. Update: when I received my projector and opened the outer box, then I noticed the projector's box had been opened and re-sealed, I called vendor immediately and reported it.
